Life of Brian Opening Animation

This is the opening to the film Monty Pythons life of Brian, this film is a parody comedy to match the genre of our film.

The conventions of the genre are to be very stereotypical, to make films and stories, to have many random scenes and has sarcasm throughout.

The start of the opening is set in the sky, this symbolises the heavens and religion which is what the film is a parody of.

The shots are mostly eye level so it puts you as an observer of what is going on throughout but at the very end with a low angle shot to make the character shown more important.

Te whole opening is from a long shot to show the character as well as its surroundings as they are both very important to the story.

One of the key images is the angel at the end as it signifies religion and the angel getting burnt at the end shows how it will make a mockery of the story.

My expectations of the film after watching the opening is for it to have lots of referrals to stories from the bible and turn them into a joke.

I think a young audience will watch it as it is a comedy but so will older people as they may know more about religion and be interested to see whats been done with it.
